3Worked great, till it came apart

I purchased the Hosa XLR ground lift adapter to use live with an acoustic/electric rig. It's basically an a/b configuration where I can plug my electric guitar into a tube amp and run the acoustic out to the house through an LR Baggs Paracoustic DI and still access my pedals and tuner with either instrument.

Since I began using the Hosa, I was able to plug in at various clubs without the hum associated with ground loops.
I highly recommend a device of this type to anyone using a DI that does not have a ground lift built-in...acoustic, electric, bass, keys, anyone. It is not advisable to use a ground lift (3-to-2) adapter on the AC lines. Much, much safer to lift the ground on the audio lines.

I set up Saturday night and noticed the Hosa unit was in two pieces, being held together only by the very, very light guage (small, thin) internal wiring.
Had to develop a quick work around as this happened 30 min. before we were scheduled to play.
One of the screws had come out and left the unit in two pieces.
If you use this unit regularly, you must periodically tighten the screws.

I now have to troubleshoot and see if it still works - I was not able to use it Saturday night - or if I have to buy another. I may go with another brand that offers a no-questions-asked warranty. It's 4 times as expensive, however.
Given their street price of $8, buying 2 or 3 is not out of the question.
Lesson learned.

5Good.

Works as ordered. Quick delivery. I had a situation where I was trying to use a direct box along with an out to a guitar amp so the guitarist can monitor their playing while I record a direct track. Unfortunately, the outlets used on the computer and amp were on different circuits, so the was a lot of ground loop hum. I put this between the XLR cable coming from the direct box and the interface, and it took care of it! Just make sure that both pieces of equipment actually are grounded, or else it will ground through the player.

Very handy to have a few of these lying around.

Unfortunately, the letters that identify it as a ground-lift adapter scratch off easily and can be mistaken for a different adapter (like a phase inverter). I remedied this by adding a label with electrical tape.
